While Microsoft officially sunsetted the offer in July 2016, users were still able to upgrade their operating systems to 11 using old Windows 7/8 keys. Now, this loophole is no more; users can't upgrade to Windows 11 using Windows 7/8 keys anymore, reported our friends at PCMag.

Microsoft unveiled more news at its recent Microsoft Surface event, including passwordless logins for Windows 11 and updated features for Copilot, Microsoft's AI tool.
