HEROIC are through to Group B's upper bracket final in cs_summit 7 following a 2-0 victory over the new MIBR lineup. The Danish team, playing their first competitive match in over a month, looked a bit rusty at first as they had to come back from 5-13 down on their map, Overpass, after a disastrous start to the series. The victory on Vertigo was much more straightforward as HEROIC were on the front foot almost from the offset, setting up a clash against MOUZ on Tuesday.
Bruno "?shz?" Martinelli was a nuisance for the HEROIC offence throughout the first half of Overpass, starting with the pistol round, in which he picked up a trio of kills. He and Marcelo "?chelo?" Cespedes combined for 31 frags in the half as MIBR raced to a stunning 10-5 lead after putting up a resolute defensive performance.
HEROIC were put under even more pressure after the side switch as MIBR secured the opening three rounds of the half to increase their lead even further. But the landscape of the game changed once the Danes had money in the bank: Casper "?cadiaN?" M?ller's troops tightened up and immediately took control of the game, shutting out the Brazilians for the remainder of the half en route to a surprisingly hard-fought victory.
Vertigo began at a frantic pace, with rounds going both ways as neither side managed to assume control of the game during the early stages. But the rest of the half was dominated by HEROIC, who kept the Terrorists at bay to secure a 10-5 lead.
The Danes further added to their lead after switching to the T side, with MIBR then putting some rounds together after buying up. But the Brazilians' resistance was then broken as HEROIC picked up the final three rounds they needed to wrap things up.
