Go to Settings.

Tap on Beta Updatesfollowed byiPadOS 18 public beta.
Hit the back button (on the top left) to head back to the Software Updatepage.
Tap on Update Now.

As mentioned at the outset, the official release date of iPadOS 18 is some time in the fall, perhaps alongside the launch of iPhone 16.
