A rapt audience watches Yokohama Horiken create a tattoo using traditional Japanese?teboritechniques on March 7 at the pre-opening of “Perserverance,” the new tattoo exhibition at the Japanese American National Museum in Little Tokyo. Horiken, who has nearly 20 years of experience in tattooing, was among the artists and models featured in the exhibit that explores the cultural and historic significance of Japanese tattoos.
The tattoo artists were introduced at an evening reception for JANM members and also took part in the official opening the following day. “Perseverance” runs through Sept. 14.
